This is perhaps the cheapest and quickest form of conversion, but it is not suited to every home.

A garage Conversion is most feasible in solid construction garages. This means that the garage is built onto or into the house using bricks and mortar. For other types of garage, the extent of the work is likely to outweigh the benefits. Due to the need for insulation, you should take into account a reduction of ceiling height of 150 mm and up to 100 mm on each exterior wall.

Windows and doors are usually fitted into the wall which replaces the garage door. There are a wide range of uses for garage conversions, their position at the front of the house makes them the best way to add a reception or living room, but it can also be used for a downstairs bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, games room or even to start your own business at home.
